How to Use Instagram Notes to Market your Business

I don’t know about you, but I’m a big fan of communicating via Post-It notes.

Want to wish my roommate a good day at work? Post-It note.

Want to remind myself I’m awesome every morning before I start my day? Post-It note.

Need a reminder to save my work every 30-minutes so I don’t cry when my computer crashes. Post-It note.

There are so many wonderful magical things you can do with Post-It notes… which is why Instagram decided to jump on the bandwagon.

What is an Instagram Note?

Take that “I’m Awesome” Post-It note reminder, for example. Instagram now allows you to post a public Post-It note to all your followers.

This is super useful for brands to promote your products, offer customer service, or just connect with your fans (as long as you follow each other).

How to Post an Instagram Note?

The best part about notes? They take just about as long to post as it would to write an actual Post-It note message. Let’s walk through it together in four simple steps.

  1. Once you’ve opened Instagram. Click the house in the bottom left corner so that you can view your Following Feed.

  2. Then press the “Messanger” icon in the top right corner.

  3. At the top left side of the screen, you will see your profile photo with the text “Note…”. Tap that.

  4. Write your message. Add music by clicking the music button. Let people know if you’re going to go live soon with the other button.

Right above your keyboard, there is an option to choose who gets to see your note. It will automatically be “followers you follow back”. You can change this to only send it to your close friends.

Your Challenge: Write your First Note!

Notes are a fantastic way for business owners to reach people about their latest deals, specials, or events!

Luckily for you, since this feature is so new, it isn’t oversaturated yet.

Get ahead of the trend and post your first note! You can highlight a sale, deal, event, or just keep it simple and make a note about trying Notes for the first time!

Happy note posting! 😆
