Best Content Creation Tools for 2023

Creating content for your business can be overwhelming. If you’re wanting to DIY your content creation and social media management, there are a handful of tools that can make the process a little less intimidating.

Not every small business needs a social media manager, they just need the time and energy to dedicate to it (along with the best content creation tools for small businesses).

Since girl bosses don’t gate keep, I’ve compiled a list to help you start out on the right foot. Without further ado, here are the top 5 content creation tools all the best products:

Touchscreen Mist Cleaner and Lens Cleaning Wipes

When you’re staring at a screen all day, smudges can easily become your arch nemesis. Whether it be smudges on your laptop screen or on your camera lens, this combination of a touchscreen cleaner and lens cleaning wipes will help you keep everything clear and clean.

Flexible Tripod Stand for iPhone

Within my first year of social media management I went through four different tripods. This flexible tripod was the only one that had everything I needed. This tripod is lightweight (which helps immensely when moving from shoot to shoot) and adjustable (in SO many directions). It also has a wireless remote which I’ve found helpful for shooting content where you’re talking to the camera.

Viozon Extendable Selfie Stand

If you’re shooting content for any product where you’re journaling, reading, or cooking (or really anything else that works best with an overhead shot), this extendable selfie stand is a life saver. While I adore using my iPhone tripod stand, it’s not always the greatest for overhead desk shots. This extendable selfie stand fills the gap. It also has an LED light attached to it which is a game saver with overhead content shoots.

DJI Osmo Mobile SE Gimbal

For businesses that don’t need to be shooting overhead content, this gimbal is the perfect tool for pan shots or daily vlog style content. It lessens the shakiness of your content when you’re walking around and gives your content a professional stabilized look. I’ve loved using this tool for my clothing boutique and restaurant clients to really level-up the look of their content.

Canon EOS Mark II

While you definitely don’t need a camera to create content for your business, it’s no secret that higher quality images perform better on social media. This camera will give you higher quality images without breaking the bank AND you can connect it to your phone to drop photos to your phone as soon as you take them! I’ve found that feature to be the most convenient, especially when shooting festivals.

  • The best free tools I’ve used as a content creator are Canva, CapCut, and Notion.

Canva is fantastic for creating graphics, reel covers, and has a plethora of stock images and videos.

CapCut is a video editing software built for editing short form social media content. I prefer to use CapCut on my iPad or Mac for a more user-friendly experience.

Notion is a digital journaling and project management software that helps me organize my business and content so I can manage multiple clients at once.

  • The software that I’ve found to be best for content creation are Canva Pro, CapCut, HoneyBook, and Notion.

If you want to become a content creator, the most important investment is a Canva Pro account. With Pro you will have access to so many more tools, stock photos, and stock videos that will level up your content game.

I use CapCut for video editing and Notion for project management.

HoneyBook is fantastic for contracts and invoices when you’re just getting started.

  • To start content creation, you will need a graphic editing software, a video editing software, and a business social media account (I recommend Tik Tok or Instagram).

Use your business account to showcase your content creation skills and reach out to potential clients.
